Traces (Tracce), examines the subtle marks that reveal the interconnectedness of European countries within the contemporary world. This work focuses on the emotional and social traces that invite the viewer to ask:

“Isn’t it familiar?”

Throughout the project, human presence is delicate and decentered, allowing the environment itself to take the lead. The frames capture, with subtlety, an invasive, at times, yet constant presence. Traces of life appear in an open window, in discarded objects, yet the tension remains gentle, never imposing; however, at times, it bothers. The characters complement one another in telling a story of life that feels almost anonymous, yet intimately familiar. The locations portrayed are scattered across Europe, inviting the viewer to ask: Is this my home?

Blurring the boundaries between landscape and street photography. We observe the scenery to reflect on the traces we leave behind — both emotional and material — and to pause in that awareness.

Working in black and white emphasizes the physical imprints of light that emerge through the silver grains of film. Each stage of the process — from shooting to developing and printing — becomes an act of reclaiming the gesture of preservation. Light leaves its marks on the silver, recording the act as it is consummated.
